Tuesday

Been having a hard time keeping on top of life lately - physical problems, emotional stress, unexpected things cropping up. Today, however, here is a list of what I consider accomplishments:

-Showered
-Cleaned the kitchen
-Cleaned the downstairs toilet

I still need to take out the trash, and tomorrow I need to mail our invitations. But maybe now I'll feel more like taking care of my nutritional needs since I have a clean kitchen to cook in!

Monday

Same story yesterday - got most done, but not all. Here is what I accomplished -

Sunday's list, done:

-Cook chicken and assemble items for tacos tonight
-Clean kitchen
-Take a bath with my new bubble bath!
-Move cat tree downstairs
-Organize my room for 10 minutes (this wasn't timed, and it was unofficial - just felt like doing a little before bed).

Today (Monday), done:

-Breakfast
-Shower
-Work
-Lunch

Today, to do:

-Clean kitchen
-Empty cat litter (usually this is paired with trash but our can is full, so I'll just do this today)
-Clean out car
-Laundry (I have not been caught up for over a week...)
-Measure inseam for bike buying purposes
-Bring new jeans upstairs
-Email game night people about all games that are not mine
-Work on bedroom somewhat

Here's what's going on with the "bedroom" thing. It is the most neglected part of my house. I still have things partly unpacked on the floor from when I moved in! This is because 1. I only spend time in my room to sleep, and 2. No guests see my room. I realize these are not acceptable excuses, but this is why I have always put more effort into the rest of my house instead of my bedroom.

Now that I'm going to be sharing my bedroom come July, I need to figure out how to arrange it better. So I've made some progress, sorting through some junk on the floor, moving all my books to a bookcase downstairs, getting rid of a broken bookcase, rearranging some furniture, finding places to put stuff I want to keep, getting rid of a LOT of stuff. This is why the trash is full and we don't get it taken out for two more days! I am starting to build up full bags in my bedroom of junk - but that's a good thing. I don't want to keep stuff on hand that I don't need. I hate clutter!

So when I say "work on bedroom", this is not a mere room cleaning. This is figuring out what stuff to keep, what stuff to toss, what to give away, where to put things. The hardest thing for me is knowing what to do with "sentimental" things. I've been throwing it all in a bin, but I'll have to go through it once it gets full.

Update: 2:38 PM

Slight change of plans. Tomorrow we will have a truck and Joe has off work so we can pick out a Craigslist couch and bring it to my house, and also haul my old couches outside. I can't wait to get these things out of my house - I can only imagine the dust, pollen, mites, cat hair...since my allergies get so bad if I take a nap on it.

I really need to find my tape measure.

I started cleaning the kitchen - dishwasher is currently running.
I started the laundry - washing machine is running and I folded and put away everything.
Made progress on room.
Scooped cat litter.

Here is my revised list

To Do

-Clean kitchen
-Empty cat litter
-Clean out car
-Laundry
-Measure inseam for bike buying purposes
-Bring new jeans upstairs
-Email game night people about all games that are not mine
-Schedule craigslist people visits, map, research
-Get cash to buy a couch tomorrow

Sunday

Even though I didn't do everything on my list yesterday, I did a good portion of it.

Saturday's List, Done

-Deposit check
-Clean the kitchen
-Visit Joe at work
-Lunch
-Tea
-Trash
-Mail a check to Caileen
-Update wedding expenses sheet and send to Dad
-Return movies to library
-Shower

Not bad! The shopping part was no fun, so I think it's okay I didn't get the whole list done. I didn't have any energy after that.

Today, done

Here's what I've done today:

-Dishes
-Church
-Went bridesmaid shoe shopping (And found the perfect ones!)

Today, to do

-Cook chicken and assemble items for tacos tonight
-Clean kitchen
-Clean and organize dining room
-Trash (again...but not as bad as it was yesterday)
-Call Craigslist couch people after Joe sees possibilities
-Laundry
-Take a bath with my new bubble bath!
-Move cat tree downstairs
-Organize my room for 10 minutes

Saturday

I haven't been "getting it done" lately, which is why I haven't been posting. But today I really have no excuse not to get things done. Here's the plan:

To Do:

-Make shopping list
-Go shopping
-Deposit check
-Laundry
-Clean the kitchen
-Visit Joe at work
-Lunch
-Tea
-Trash
-Mail a check to Caileen
-Update wedding expenses sheet and send to Dad
-Organize living room

Done

-Breakfast
-Wasted time

Yep.

Update: 11:49 AM

Done

-Made shopping list
-Tea
-Lunch (eating now)
-Halfway done with the trash (it requires a lot of energy, and almost all the cans in the house are full)
-Updated Wedding Expense list and sent to Dad
-Halfway done cleaning the kitchen

Need to do

-Mail Caileen's check
-Deposit my check
-Return movies to library
-Finish trash
-Finish cleaning the kitchen
-Organize living room
-Laundry
-Shower

Alright. Done with lunch now (and it wasn't junk food! I actually cooked rice and added green beans and chicken broth to make a soup! Yes, the bare minimum of protein, vegetables, and grain - but at least I ate, right?) I'll use the rest of the rice tonight in tacos.

Thursday

To Do

-Work on BSF
-Format at least 10 addresses for invitations
-Email back espresso catering place
-Tidy the living room for game night
-Empty trash
-Take Airborne
-Take care of Facebook messages

Done

-Mow lawn if weather permits
-Nanny

I got out the mower, let the gas flow to the engine, and got it going, mowed half the lawn, then looked down to see a swollen purple lump on my wrist! I'm not sure what happened, but I got my roomie to finish the lawn so it's done! Unfortunately now I'm exhausted so I'm letting myself rest a bit before I freshen up and get going on my to-do list - also while I give my wrist a break. So no more typing!

Update: 6:35 PM

So I did everything, albeit slowly. Glad I didn't book myself up completely to give myself time to rest. I have a completely empty Facebook message inbox. I'll tackle my email next.

Tomorrow will be busy, but probably not as busy as I had originally planned because my wrist needs taking care of. Here is what I foresee:

-Scrub mold on upstairs bathroom ceiling (this is the task I am dreading)
-Type at least 10 invitation addresses
-BSF lesson
-Clean email inbox
-Laundry
-Visit Joe at work

This week, there have been several times I have thought of a task and said to myself, "Put that on the list for Friday". Now I can't think of them, so I'll leave the list where it is right now and trust that I'll remember more to add to it tomorrow.

-Babysat
-Got copy of platter order from TOP
-Did the dishes
-Mailed my deposit check to the florist

To do:

-Update "Amber Wedding Expenses" list with floral deposit
-Check and respond to phone messages
-Check and respond to email messages
-Empty trash
-Check and respond to Facebook messages
-Do laundry
-Format 10 names/addresses from guest list
-Facebook message game night people
-Email Dad about plumbing problems in upstairs bathroom
-Look for more checks and reorder
-Work on BSF lesson
-Clean downstairs bathroom
-Clean out car

Big list today, but I got off babysitting three hours earlier today so I have more time.

Update: 3:07 PM

Done:

-Update "Amber Wedding Expenses" list with floral deposit
-Check and respond to phone messages
-Check and respond to email messages
-Empty trash
-Check and respond to Facebook messages
-Format 10 names/addresses from guest list
-Facebook message game night people
-Email Dad about plumbing problems in upstairs bathroom

To Do:

-Look for more checks and reorder
-Work on BSF lesson
-Clean downstairs bathroom
-Clean out car
-Do laundry

The laundry is in process, and I am losing my energy reserves from working this morning and this afternoon. I am going to clean out my car (since it's basically cleaned out anyway), look around for more checks, and take a 1 hour nap.

Update: 7:59 PM

I got it done but kind of cheated a little bit. My roomie cleaned the downstairs bathroom, so instead of subbing it with "upstairs bathroom" I just crossed it off. And I'm not technically done with laundry because there is one load to be folded and put away. But I did everything else - and I even found my checkbooks so I don't have to reorder! Yay!

What will tomorrow's list look like? Probably something like this:

-Work on BSF
-Format at least 10 addresses for invitations
-Email back espresso catering place
-Tidy the living room for game night
-Empty trash
-Take Airborne
-Take care of Facebook messages
-Mow lawn if weather permits

Let me just say I really don't want to mow the lawn. By "weather permits" I mean "not wet" because wet grass is a pain. In Seattle in March, that's hard to get.

I'm not putting much on my list tomorrow because I'm working till 1ish and then have game night at 7. I also started getting my allergies bad today, which is weird because I always take medicine for it. Guess it's not working anymore. But I suspect I'll be exhausted tomorrow.

The other reason for going easy tomorrow is that I have Friday off work and can use the opportunity to get lots done!
